JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) &#8212; A St. Joseph man and former St. Joseph School District teacher is behind bars after he allegedly enticed an underage child into performing intimate acts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courts.mo.gov\/fv\/c\/Probable%20Cause%20Statement.PDF?courtCode=05&amp;di=4656272\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.courts.mo.gov\/fv\/c\/Probable%20Cause%20Statement.PDF?courtCode=05&amp;di=4656272\">a probable cause statement<\/a>, 58-year-old Duane E. Parrott communicated online with a subject whom he believed was 16 years old. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The child told Parrott they were 16, and he continued to communicate sexually with them, asking questions about sexual acts, intimate parts and even asking them to perform sexual acts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the statement, Parrott met the child at an agreed-upon location with the understanding that he would take the child back to his home to perform the sexual acts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an interview, Parrott admitted to &#8220;going down the wrong path again,&#8221; admitted to a similar incident happening several years ago, that he &#8220;should&#8217;ve easily picked up on it (knowing the child was underage&#8221; and admitted to the child being underage. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parrott is currently booked in the Buchanan County Jail and has an initial court appearance scheduled for 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, with Honorable Judge Rebecca Spencer.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kq2.com\/news\/2026\/09\/30\/st-joseph-man-former-teacher-charged-with-child-enticement\/\">St. Joseph man, former teacher, charged with child enticement<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kq2.com\">KQ2 | St. Joseph, Missouri News, Weather &amp; Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
