Bartlett Center Board issues resolution to dissolve the nonprofit

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) — Bartlett Center leaders issued a formal resolution to dissolve the nonprofit, which provides families and individuals with childcare resources, youth programming and outreach.

The resolution, effective Friday, Sept. 25, comes one week after former Executive Director LaTonya Williams’ employment ended.

The Bartlett Center Board of Directors determined that the center’s financial condition and operational status deemed it to be in the community’s interest to dissolve the corporation.

According to the resolution, the Bartlett Center will collect and will still pay and discharge all of its assets, debts and liabilities from available funds.

“The transition to a new provider, which will begin Monday, should be seamless for the children, parents and staff.

The Bartlett Center Board met with staff Monday and again today to answer questions and help ensure a smooth transition.

It was a difficult decision to make, but the Board believes it was the right one for the children who attend the Bartlett Center, their parents who work, the staff and the community.

We appreciate the assistance of the City of St. Joseph during this challenging time.”
