Mosaic Life Care offering free prostate cancer screenings in September

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) — Mosaic Life Care is offering free prostate cancer screenings this September, emphasizing that early detection is one of the most crucial steps toward getting cancer-free.

For men 50 years and older, it is highly encouraged to participate in prostate cancer screenings, as one in eight men in the United States are diagnosed with prostate cancer.

However, it is highly treatable, making screening an important part of preventative health care.

Dr. André Arsenault, a medical oncologist with Mosaic Cancer Care, stressed the importance of awareness and screening.

“Around 1.4 million people are diagnosed with it each year,” Arsenault said. “It definitely is a very common cancer. There probably doesn’t go a day by that I don’t see a patient with prostate cancer in my clinic. So it certainly isn’t a rare one, and it’s good for people to know that there are screening and treatment options.”

The screenings are scheduled for Friday, September 25th, and Saturday, September 26th, at Mosaic Life Care’s Cancer Center, and are completely free.
