Missouri football championships staying in St. Joseph through 2030

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KQTV) — Missouri high school football state championship games will be played in St. Joseph at Spratt Stadium through 2030.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association announced Friday morning that the Show-Me Bowl games will return to St. Joseph in 2029 and 2030.

The St. Joseph Sports Commission and Missouri Western State University are already hosting this year’s games, next year’s games and the 2028 games.

The MSHSAA board voted to extend that agreement through 2030 this week.

St. Joseph and Missouri Western have hosted the eight-man football game since 2024, and last year was the first year of the agreement to host all seven championships, including Class 1 through Class 6.

Previously, Missouri Western hosted the eight-man game from 1998 to 2007.

Also, this week, the MSHSAA board voted to move the girls volleyball championships back to Cape Girardeau in 2028, 2029, and 2030. St. Joseph and Civic Center will host this year’s game and next year’s games.
